This is a tool for exploring the relationship between the pitch and volume of a musical instrument.
A recording can either be made here or loaded from a file. In order for online recording to work, this page must be accessed via a secure server (local or https URL). More information can be found here.
The recording should be of a single instrument, and have both soft and loud dynamics.
Recording level should be adjusted using the system microphone settings. A volume of at least .5 is desirable.
After the file is loaded, or the online recording completed, the Note Table will provide curve-fitting and display options for the Pitch-Volume chart.
Changes to Settings will cause the charts to immediately recalculate.
Charts will zoom with thumbwheel, box zoom with ctrl-click-drag and pan with click-drag. The "Unzoom" button restores the original view.
Clicking on a data point will display pitch-detection information for that "chunk" in the ASDF and WAVE tabs.
